One day at a time

So I'm not sure exactly when I started this weight loss journey but I want to say that's it been a little over a month. I've lost 3.5 lbs which isn't that great but I've lost 1 1/2 inches off my waist, 1 inch off my chest and 1/2 inch off my hips. I'm happy about that. I can tell my body is changing. I can actually feel muscles in my abs. I might have a 2 pack. Lol! After 4 children, my skin has been stretched out and I finally am seeing some results.
I'm still posting with #projecttub2tone. This has been keeping me accountable. If I see that my cousin-in-law Carol or sister-in-law Emi are seeing results or posting their progress then it only makes me want to dig deeper and do better. I know there's still a ton of improvement especially with my eating. I've been doing much better portion wise. I still have my moments of weakness where I've enjoyed a little chocolate and some buttery popcorn. I really can't deprive myself all the time. I have been improving my times and increasing weight lifting.
I'm using a new app which I have fallen in love with, Nike + Training Club. It's free which makes it even better. I don't think anyone should have to pay money to train themselves. I tried out cross fit at a gym in Kahuku. I really enjoyed it, I mean REALLY enjoyed it. It reminded me of when I was training for my powerlifting competition. It was a really good workout but it's really expensive. So I decided to just stick to my Nike app and do it myself. I can train myself and get in the right mindset. The great part about the app is that you can create your own workout based on what you want to focus on. I've been doing the "Get Strong" and "Get Toned" workouts and I can feel more muscle definition in my arms and legs. Today on the program was a 5 mile steady run. I haven't run 5 miles in maybe 2 years. I ran 4 miles last month but that's as close as I've got. I did it though. Note to self, next time I decide to run 5 miles I need to make sure I run earlier in the day. The heat from the sun was killing me. My feet were getting numb. I was sweating bullets but when I was done, it feel good to run that far.  I did it in 54:23 and my pace was 10:52 a mile. Not the greatest time but I'm just proud of myself for doing it. I might've looked silly doing it since I was getting pretty tired towards the end but so what?! My next goal is to run the bike path 3 times or run 7 miles. 5 miles is 2 times plus a little more. Hopefully I'll be able to do that by the same time next month. I also want to start using 20 lb dumbells with my exercise program. I'm using 10 and 15 lbs now. Any improvement is a step to a healthier me. So I'm taking this one day at a time. I'm making each day count. I know it's been a slow progression but any progression is better than nothing.
I've also been busy with other aspects of my life. I was just called as the 2nd counselor in our Ward Primary Presidency. It's almost been a month now. This is the first time that I'm serving on an auxiliary presidency. I'm still getting used to things but we've been working really well together as a presidency. I oversee the Cub Scouting program and I'm loving it. I can't wait for Kalei to join next month. Yes, he's turning 8 on June 7th. Still can't belive that he's getting baptized. He's going to have so much fun in Cub Scouts. Every time I go, I'm reminded of all the times I attended Scouts with my brothers. My mom was always the Den Leader or another position in Cub Scouting. I also went along because she didn't want me home by myself. My dad has always been with the Boy Scout program. I know that if I have any questions that I can just ask him.
So hopefully I don't put off posting again for another 3 weeks but I'll try my best to post again soon. One day at a time. One step in the right direction and we can all reach our goals. Peace out!
